ALD Family Weekend is a unique experience that allows families affected by ALD to connect in a magical environment - The Painted Turtle Camp. There are many activities available to enjoy - Swimming, fishing and boating, ropes course, horseback riding, archery, wood-shop, arts and crafts and tons of space to sit back and relax with your loved ones. The weekend is about relaxation, connection, and community, but it’s your experience and you can make it what you want.

*All activities are optional

The Painted Turtle Camp’s mission is to provide a year-round, life-changing environment for children with life-threatening diseases and their families – one that allows children to participate in an authentic camp experience by supporting their medical needs and offers their families care, education and respite. The program also includes on-site medical and psychological support.

Anyone with ALD and their family are welcome. There is no age limit. Activities can be enjoyed by everyone. Additionally, all equipment and program areas are made with modifications for unique differences and wheelchair accessibility, including the swimming pool and ropes course. The retreat is built for any and all ages and we encourage all families to attend to help build a stronger, tighter ALD community.

ALD Connect is generously offering to help with travel to families in need through the Michael Benton Travel Grant program.
